Lichen commonly found on limpets and barnacles causing pitting to the shell. Images taken on upper middleshore on beach east of Marazion, and an Tavis Vor, Mousehole, Cornwall.

The genus name Collemopsidium has taken over from Pyrenocollema halodytes as it has recently been found that lichens named Pyrenocollema halodytes consisted of three distint species.
